Extinction Rebellion cyclists cause disruption during Jersey's rush hour
Climate activists in Jersey caused disruption for commuters this morning.
Around 55 Extinction Rebellion protesters held a 'slow-cycle' from St Aubin, via Victoria Avenue to the town centre from 7:45am.
They took up the full width of the road with police vehicles at the front and back of the group. Other vehicles were not allowed to get through or overtake and many commuters set off early to avoid delays.
Protesters then staged a 'die-in' outside Marks & Spencer at around 9am, before ending the protest in Royal Square.
The event was advertised on Facebook where the group said the action was designed to be "fun, friendly and slightly disruptive".
