Jersey's Chief Minister is refusing to react to allegations the government is 'dictatorial', has 'lost its way' and that leadership is 'non-existent'.

The damning assessment of the way the Government of Jersey is run was made by John Hamon, the chief operating officer of States-owned Andium Homes, in a resignation letter which was leaked to the Jersey Evening Post.

He wrote:

In a parting shot aimed at the chief executive and the Chief Minister, he added:

He also expressed frustration that the publication of his salary, along with other senior figures, had provoked media coverage and public debate.

In response, Senator John Le Fondre, said:

The chairman of Andium Homes, Frank Walker, is fully backing his departing colleague. He said:

ITV News has approached Mr Hamon for comment, and asked the Chief Minister for an interview that goes beyond the statement issued on his behalf by the communications unit.
