Cooper retains title as British Sand Ace Championship returns to Guernsey

UK rider Paul Cooper retained his British Sand Ace crown on Saturday as the Championship returned after an enforced hiatus.

The event, which has been running since 2006, was called off last year because of logistical problems but was back at Vazon with a high quality field of riders.

Cooper - champion in 2017 - emerged victorious once again in the 500cc solo class with sole local rider Bob Teed finishing ninth overall after winning the B final.

The UK team of Rob Wilson and Terry Saunters took the sidecar title in the British Championship event.
