European bowls championships get underway in Guernsey
The 2019 European Bowls Team Championships began in Guernsey on Sunday with players from 14 member nations, including Jersey, involved.
It is the second time Guernsey has hosted the biennial event having staged the inaugural team championships in 1997.
Guernsey and Jersey have never won the team title, although the Sarnians have finished twice on two occasions, including in Jersey in 2017.
Each team consists of four players who will compete for men's and women's pairs, and mixed fours, titles alongside overall team honours.
The round-robin championships, which are being played across three venues - Vale Rec, Delancey Park and Beau Sejour, conclude on Friday.
Two-time winners Ireland are the defending team champions, while England are the most successful nation with five titles.
Guernsey team: Todd Priaulx, Rose Ogier, Lucy Beere, Matt Le Ber.
Jersey team: Derek Boswell, Kim Gallichan, Fiona Archibald, Greg Davis.
