There could be a new air link between Jersey, Guernsey and Rennes Airport by next spring.

Officials in France are in talks with an airline and business groups to get the service up and running.

The head of the airport says there are lots of opportunities from new possible routes.

Rennes airport connects to around 30 destinations across Europe including Madrid, Barcelona and Amsterdam.

A Channel Islands connection is part of a wider plan to develop deeper economic ties between the region and the islands.
