One of Guernsey's main clothing retailers could undergo a multi-million pound redevelopment project which will see it expand into the building next to its flagship store.

Creasey's want to take over 13 High Street in St Peter Port which had previously been occupied by HSBC.

There are plans to re-build the top floor of the department store to provide a new restaurant which will overlook the harbour.

The company say that the granite façade on the High St will be kept but a new façade will be constructed overlooking the Quayside.

The man in charge of Creasey's has said the work will carry the business into the next few decades.

The project could also include a new hair dressing area as well as nail bars and beauty rooms.

The company say that they have now submitted a planning application and do not expect the work to start until the middle of next year with completion around 2021.

They say the development will address mobility issues with floors having step free access.
