Islanders in Guernsey will now be able to use a new roadworks map to find alternative routes when they drive.

The government says the budget for the new upgrade, including contingency costs, will be £103,000.

The new system will provide information on affected bus routes, the location of works within the road and better ways to search and report construction work.

The new 'Summary Traffic Report' link will provide an automated list of all the current major roadworks on the island.

The old system had been in place since 2003. The new one is now fully web-based, which the States says will allow it to be updated more quickly and easily.

The map can be found on gov.gg/roadworks.
