Plans to help Guernsey's High Street have been ''gathering dust'' for far too long, that is according to the Guernsey Retail Group.

It says St Peter Port desperately needs more parking as a priority, and more money for events.

Yasmin Le Huray, who owns the The Pickle Pad, has told ITV News that she has had to move her store from a quieter street where other stores were closing around her.

Yasmin says she had to move from the Arcade to a pop-up shop on the high street, and although there is higher footfall, it is also higher rent.

She says she will have to weigh up whether it is worthwhile.

30 retailers have already joined the Guernsey Retail Group and they are looking for more.

The group says its aim is to form a common voice to tackle issues including staffing, recruitment, retention and the internet.

Members are currently working to form a business case to put to the Economic Development committee, which will include a request for funding.
