Warnings over invasive beetle

People are being warned about an invasive beetle which could damage potato and tomato crops.

The Colorado Beetle which is not native to Jersey may be able to reach the island from France - due because of the warm weather and easterly winds which could carry the insects over the sea.

The beetles are around 10 milimetres long, with a yellow body and dark brown

stripes.
