People living near St Peter's Technical Park have described their lives as "torture" due to the constant noise from the area.

Sally Wood and her family say they keep the windows closed, rarely use the garden and do not hang out washing during the day.

Planning permission for the technical park was granted in 1984 but it stipulated that all operations must take place within the units.

Camerons construction company is building the new hospital catering unit at the park while Pentagon, a Jersey run and owned builders merchant, have operated from there since 2016. They expanded to two units in 2017.

An enforcement notice has been given to Pentagon for not sticking to the clause which says they must operate inside the units, which the company has applied to have removed.

Pentagon says it has invested substantially in ways to reduce noise and pollution.

A meeting between residents and politicians will take place on 12 July.
