Jersey Bulls sign-up 30 players ahead of debut season

Jersey Bulls FC, the newly-formed club taking island football into the English leagues for the first time, have signed up an initial 30-strong squad ahead of their debut season.

Six of the side that started last month's Muratti Vase final for Jersey are among them, including island representative captain Jack Boyle.

All of the players will be dual registered with their current clubs, meaning they will be able to appear in the local leagues if left out of the Bulls matchday squad.

Manager Gary Freeman will have 12 players from his former club St Peter available to him at the start of the season, while eight are drawn from six-times Channel Islands champions St Paul's.

Jersey Bulls are following the route taken by Guernsey FC eight years ago by joining Combined Counties Division One, the 10th tier of English football.

The Bulls, who will play their home games at Springfield, host League Two side Stevenage in their inaugural match on Saturday 6 July.

The club have also confirmed a second pre-season friendly at home against Leicester City U23s on Tuesday 16 July, ahead of making their league debut at Springfield on Saturday 3 August.
