Donations pour in for Jersey family who lost everything in house fire

An online donation page set up to raise money for a family who lost all of their possessions and their dog in a fire has raised almost three times its target.

Four fire engines were sent to the house in Maufant on Saturday.

At one point 15 firefighters were on site trying to put out the fire which started in the kitchen.

The house was severely damaged and the family dog died in the fire.

Since Saturday, an online donation page has been set up to raise money for the family.

So far £5,440 has been raised, almost three times the £2,000 target.

It is hoped the money raised will buy things like school uniforms and items which might not be covered by insurance.
