Former residents, who suffered abuse at a secure school in Jersey are still waiting to hear about States funded compensation.

Those who were locked up at Les Chenes in the late 1990s and 2000s were told by the Children's Minister that they would hear about the planned redress scheme by today (Thursday 19th April).

Earlier this month Senator Mézec said 'I will be making a full announcement about the proposed launch date before Easter'.

That deadline will pass at the end of today, but the States are set to make an announcement on Tuesday instead.

A number of former residents have spoken to ITV News of the physical abuse and bullying they faced and how it has had a lifelong effect on their lives.
