International chess tournament underway in Jersey

An international chess tournament is taking place in Jersey this week.

Players from around the world are competing in the international competition.

They are playing to qualify for a place in the 2019 British Championship.

The winner of the Open Tournament will receive £1,500.

The event is at the Ommaroo Hotel and will run until Saturday 13th April.

Cash prizes and trophies will be presented during the closing ceremony on Saturday.
