Man accused of murder sent texts pretending to be lover
The man accused of murdering his lover in Jersey last year sent text messages from her phone pretending to be her.
That's the claim from the prosecution in the murder trial of Jamie Lee Warn, who is charged with killing Zsuzsanna Besenyei and perverting the course of justice. He denies the charges.
The 37 year old's body was found washed up on St Ouen's Bay on 16th May 2018, a day after her car was recovered at La Haule slip.
In the third day of the trial, Jersey's Royal Court heard from a number of people who saw Zsusanna in the days before she went missing.
The witnesses included her personal trainer who last saw the 37 year old on the 9th May where she spoke about relationships and plans to start a new job.
A few days later the trainer said she texted Zsuzsanna to cancel that days session as she wasn't feeling well, but that message didn't deliver to her client's phone.
The court also heard from Zsuzsanna's flatmate who claimed he received a suspicious text from her mobile after she had gone missing.
He had contacted her regarding her rent.
The flatmate told the jury that he got a text back from Zsuzsanna apologising saying "she'd not been feeling well", but he claims the text "didn't read like it was from her".
The trial continues.
