Daily flights to London Heathrow from Guernsey announced

Daily flights from Guernsey to London Heathrow will start operating from 31st March.

It's the first time in 20 years the island will have a connection to the UK's busiest airport.

Flights will depart Guernsey at 14:35, landing at Heathrow at 15:45

Flights will depart Heathrow at 17:20, landing in Guernsey at 18:30

The Heathrow service will include:

  • One daily round trip commencing 31st March and finishing 26th October 2019

  • 78 seats per flight

  • 33,760 seat capacity for the season

  • Flight time 75 minutes

  • Aircraft type - Bombardier Dash 8 Q400

The announcement comes after Flybe rejected a second potential rescue deal from an American consortium.

The new rescue bid is reported to include 65 million pounds of investment valuing the firm at 4 and a half pence per share.

But bosses at Flybe say they don't believe that deal can be done quickly enough and are still backing a takeover proposal led by the Virgin Atlantic group.
