Tonight ITV Channel TV hosted a live debate about the future of Jersey's new hospital.

So far £42M has been spent but politicians are yet to decide on a site for the project.

Here are some of the main points made this evening.

When asked if he can guarantee another £42M won't be 'wasted', Jersey's Infrastructure Minister said that if politicians chose to build on an open, green site, it will keep the costs down.

When the audience were asked if the new process going forward will be 'timely and transparent', only one person put their hand up. Doctor David Ng says the States have been brave to take a backwards step.

Jersey's Health Minister used the debate to warn fellow politicians about insisting on sites and making the issue too political. Just weeks ago, the Assistant Chief Minister, Chris Taylor, spoke to ITV News about his support for the Overdale site.

The newly appointed Managing Director of the hospital, Rob Sainsbury, says the most important thing is for a decision to be made.
