New Bergerac series in the works

Detective Jim Bergerac was originally played by actor John Nettles

A new take on the hit 1980s detective drama Bergerac is currently being developed.

Artists Studios, Endemol Shine UK, and Jersey-based Westward Studios are planning a reboot of the classic police series.

Bergerac, which is set in Jersey, was a popular watch in the 80s and 90s and ran for nine series, starring John Nettles as detective Jim Bergerac.

Emmy award winning Gub Neal, who is behind Prime Suspect, Cracker and The Fall is the Lead Producer working on the development.

It is hoped a full series will eventually be made.
