Guernsey 'pay as you throw' system starts with mixed success
Guernsey's "pay as you throw" rubbish collection scheme has started with mixed success.
Under new rules, bin bags must now include paid for stickers which cost £1.40 for a 50 litre liner and £2.50 for a 90 litre bag.
After beginning on Sunday, some St Peter Port residents have been greeted to piles of uncollected rubbish this week.
Despite some teething problems, the States Trading Assets say most people have followed the new system.
