Go-ahead given for Guernsey Footes Lane refurbishments

A 400m, eight lane athletics track has been approved for Guernsey's Footes Lane stadium.

The track will be refurbished and improvements made to the Garenne Stand, including work to the roof and building an accessible viewing platform.

The redevelopment will start this summer and continue through to 2020.

There will also be improvements to the drainage from the infield grass pitch and the main toilet block on level one will be worked to make it more accessible.

The refurbishments will be finished ahead of the 2021 Island Games, when the sporting competition returns to the island.
