Guernsey reservoirs return to healthy storage levels after prolonged periods of dry weather
Guernsey's reservoirs have returned to healthy storage levels after the water dropped during prolonged periods of dry weather.
In November, water storage levels fell to lows of just 72%, but thanks to heavy downpours in December - the equivalent of almost 400 Olympic sized swimming pools - they are now back up to 93%.
While rainfall in December was still 18% lower than the monthly seasonal average for the past decade, the amount of water collected actually increased.
Guernsey Water says this improvement in water collection is a result of its 10-15 year investment in water catchment.
