Jersey Commonwealth duo Elliott Dorey and Sam Dawkins have both been named in the island's athletics team for next summer's NatWest International Island Games in Gibraltar.

They became the first track athletes to represent Jersey at that level since 1986 when they competed at the Gold Coast Games in April.

Jersey won 10 medals at the last Island Games in Gotland, including one gold in the men's 4x400m relay.

It left them 11th overall in the athletics medal table, but fifth in terms of total medals won.

Sprinter Tyler Johnson, who took silver in the 200m and bronze in the 100m in Gotland, is also included in the 2019 squad.

Ben Silva and Karen Le Mottee will lead the team at the Games, which take place between 6-9 July.
