Work to get underway on former St Martin's school site
Preliminary work is set to get underway to redevelop the former St Martin'sschool site by the end of this month.
The new scheme will provide more facilities for parishioners, including a food shop and a health hub with a doctor's surgery and a dentist.
The project will retain the existing Grade four listed exterior and improve the main road and car park, providing an additional 40 parking spaces.
Students from the primary school have been involved with the planning process, designing the entrance gates for the car park.
Planning permission has recently been approved and the parish is applying for final permissions to start construction.
The Treasury Minister has lodged a proposition with the States to loan the parish £2.6 million which would be repaid over 20 years.
