French double on day one of Super League Triathlon Jersey
There was a French double in the elite races on the first day of Super League Triathlon in Jersey.
Cassandre Beuagrand and Vincent Luis dominated the 'triple mix' format, which rotates the disciplines in three back-to-back stages.
All of the pro athletes will return tomorrow to tackle the 'enduro' after which the overall winners will crowned.
Jersey's own Ollie Turner was counted out before the finish but is still in the hunt for a golden ticket to race in the rest of the Super League series.
The 19-year-old must finish in the top five out of nine hopefuls who were invited to compete in Jersey after the final qualifier was called-off.
Spectators can watch the action for free around the course on the Waterfront in St Helier.
The age-group events kick-off Sunday's action at 9:00am, with the elite women and men racing from 3:00pm.
