Residents campaign for Havre des Pas regeneration
Residents of Havre des Pas are campaigning to regenerate the St Helier seaside village.
The Havre des Pas Improvement Group say the area should be invested in not just for locals, but to attract tourists too.
Their suggestions include art projects, pop-up shops and weekend markets.
Residents have been working closely with parish deputies and Constable Simon Crowcroft.
The Constable told ITV News that the parish has allocated £150,000 to kick start the improvement scheme but that they would now like to see the States of Jersey come up with the funds to carry out the work.
He went on to say that the area has become a 'commuters route' rather than a destination and that traffic must be reduced for development to go ahead.
But Minister for Infrastructure, Deputy Kevin Lewis, says that reducing traffic at Havre des Pas is not feasible as doing so would only make traffic worse on other St Helier routes.
