Le Tissier captains England U17s to Euro qualifying win
Guernsey's Maya Le Tissier was named captain as England Under-17s began their European Championship qualifying campaign in Moldova with a 6-0 win over the hosts.
The young Lionesses were dominant throughout with Le Tissier helping her sidesecure a clean sheet from centre-back and Arsenal's Melissa Filis scoring a hat-trick at the other end.
England also face Azerbaijan and Iceland this week, with the top two sides in the group guaranteed to progress to the next stage.
Seven sides will then go forward from the elite round to join hosts Bulgaria at the finals next May.
England finished fourth at the annual tournament in 2018, losing 2-1 to Finland in a third-place play-off.
