The Bailiff, Sir William Bailhache, is set to retire from office on 12 October 2019, it was announced in the States today.
The announcement was made by the Deputy Bailiff, Timothy Le Cocq, and included the following statement from the Bailiff, who is off-island.
Sir William took up his appointment as Bailiff in January 2015.
Over his career, Sir William has served as Attorney General for Jersey and as Deputy Bailiff.
He was educated at St Michael's Preparatory School in Jersey and Chaterhouse in Surrey before attending Merton College at Oxford University.
