Guernsey FC win 5-0 away to secure first points of season

Guernsey FC beat Three Bridges 5-0 away from home on Bank Holiday Monday to pick up their first points of the season.

Matt Loaring bagged a brace, with Dave Rihoy, Will Fazakerley, and Carlos Canha - with his first goal for the club, the other scorers.

The Green Lions had lost their opening two games in the new Bostik South East, slipping to defeat away at Whyteleafe and at home to top-of-the-table Ashford United.

"It's good to get three points, I thought we were worthy winners today, it was a decent performance", manager Tony Vance told Guernsey FC TV.

"Against Ashford in the first half, I thought we played very, very well. Should have gone in goals to the good, but we didn't and got punished second half."

"Today was very similar to that performance, probably a little bit better in all honesty, but obviously Ashford are flying high, so it was good to get the goals which our play deserved", he said.

The result leaves GFC 11th in the early table ahead of the visit of Ramsgate, who are one place above them, in Saturday's 2:00pm kick-off at Footes Lane.
