Jersey whitewash Guernsey in first ever T20 Inter-Insular series
Jersey beat Guernsey 3-0 at Farmers in the first ever T20 Inter-Insular series between the sides.
After defending 122 in the opener on Friday night, Chuggy Perchard's men repeated the trick in game two on Saturday to retain the trophy for the third year in a row.
Guernsey looked like they would level the series at 1-1 when Ben Ferbrache and Luke Le Tissier put on 59 for the sixth wicket.
But, with the Sarnians closing in on their target of 129, a wonderful piece of fielding from Jonty Jenner denied Le Tissier a six on the boundary.
It was a game-changing moment with Jersey going on to win by six runs.
The home side completed the whitewash with an eight-wicket victory in the third and final match.
Jersey's 17-year-old bowler Julius Sumerauer was named player of the series after picking up 10 wickets across the weekend on his inter-insular debut.
The format was changed from the traditional one-day match to help both sides prepare for the ICC WT20 Qualifier in the Netherlands later this month.
