Lunar Eclipse as seen from the Channel Islands

With much of the Channel Islands being masked in cloud last night there was not much chance of seeing the lunar eclipse.

Once the cloud did clear for a short while though, some islanders were able to capture the moment that the moon appeared darker as it passed into the earth's shadow.

Here are some great shots from some of our viewers.

David Le Conte was up using the Guernsey Observatory's 5-inch refractor telescope and got some incredible shots of the moment.
