Six people each week in Guernsey are seriously injured whilst at work.

A local group, Guernsey's Occupational Safety & Health (GOSHA), are campaigning for better health and safety in the workplace.

Despite the number of accidents in 2016 being a decrease on the previous year, there were still 301 cases, around 6 a week.

GOSHA have brought Jason Anker, a man who became paralysed from the waist down after a fall from a ladder on a construction site, to Guernsey to speak about his experiences.

Mr Anker aims to highlight how Guernsey needs to change its laws relating to treatment of people with disabilities in the workplace, and how to improve environments to make it easier for people with disabilities to work.

Guernsey's Health & Safety Executive say whilst the numbers seem high, they are falling and are less than half than the UK figures.
