Archaeologists uncover 17th century barracks at Elizabeth Castle
Archaeologists from the University of York have been in Jersey to carry out excavation work at Elizabeth Castle.
It is the first time the green area, where the remains of 17th century barracks lie, has been explored.
The team are also surveying the castle's 19th century hospital, which has not been open to the public in years.
Throughout the weekend they are also hosting a number of activities on site for islanders to get involved, including tours of the hospital.
This morning, Jersey's Junior Archaeologists will be working with the team.
