'Iris' the Seal pup dies
'Iris' the seal pup which was rescued after being washed up at La Braye in Jersey, has died the GSPCA has said.
The pup which weighed in at just 15 kilograms was having fits last night and passed away in the early hours of the morning.
British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) in Jersey cared for Iris on Wednesday night before transporting her to Guernsey the next day.
The GSPCA found her to be worryingly underweight, especially for this time of year.
The animal safety group said she was was the most "unseasonal grey seal" they'd had in its care.
Meanwhile another seal pup, 'Temperance', who is still in the care of GSPCA is said to be doing well.
The group is still appealing for people to donate fish to help with his care.
Temperance had the lowest weight of any grey seal pup to be rescued by the GSPCA at 11kg.
