The Chief Officer of Jersey's Health and Social Services is standing down.

Julie Garbutt will leave the department on July 16th and, after a handover period, will formally depart from her post in September.

In a personal note to staff she explains she is not seeking to to take-up the role of Director General for Health and Community Services.

This position is outlined in the new Target Operating Model as part of the States reform.

Julie explained the role is "ambitious", and due to family reasons she feels unable to take it on at this point in her life.

The Chief Officer finished by thanking staff for their service to the department.
