Further tests carried out on remains of Mikus Alps
Further forensic tests have been carried out on the body of Mikus Alps after his remains were found in a burnt out car in Guernsey.
The body of the 33 year old from Latvia was found on the 8th January inside his car at Petit Bot.
Initial forensic examinations into his death proved inconclusive, leading to further tests being carried out by experts from the UK.
Due to the nature of the remains, there were very few experts available in the UK to carry out these examinations, which has led to the delays.
Further tests have now been completed and Guernsey Police are awaiting the results. It's unlikely the results will be obtained before the end of June.
Investigating officers have said they continue to have an open mind.
