Five new caps in Guernsey's 2018 Siam squad

Guernsey Raiders have called up four colts for Saturday's Siam Cup clash with Jersey at Footes Lane.

But coach Jordan Reynolds will wait until Friday night to name his starting line-up as his players recover from last weekend's play-off victory over Bournemouth.

Guernsey have not trained this week, with scrum-half Malcolm Barnes the biggest casualty of that historic win.

There are five new caps among his 22, including youngsters Tom Teasdale, Ben Holland, Matt Creber, and Callum Gladstone, alongside Doug Horrocks, who has been impressive in their promotion-winning season.

Guernsey's last Siam Cup victory came in 2008 and despite the presence of just two professionals in Jersey's squad, Reynolds said their opponents should not be considered underdogs this time.
