Guernsey assisted dying campaigner to attend the legal fight of terminally ill man in UK
An assisted dying campaigner from Guernsey will show her support for a terminally ill man at London's High Court today.
Sarah Griffith, who sparked the States debate on assisted dying with an open letter to the States last year, will attend the case of Noel Conway.
Mr Conway, a terminally ill man from Shropshire, will continue his legal fight over his wish for a "peaceful and dignified" death.
He wanted to enlist assistance from the medical profession to allow him a "peaceful and dignified" death when he has less than 6 months left to live.
But he lost this High Court challenge in October last year.
Today's appeal will take place at the Royal Courts of Justice.
Sarah Griffith says she is interested in the outcome of Noel Conway's case, ahead of States of Guernsey's debate on assisted dying in May.
A debate will also take place tonight at Les Cotils in Guernsey, with campaigners from Dignity in Dying in attendance.
