In ITV Channel's coverage for the 2018 election in Jersey, Ian Gorst was given 1 minute to tell islanders why he wants to be a Senator.

Mr Gorst was first elected as a Deputy of St. Clement in 2005 and was re-elected as Deputy of St. Clement in 2008.

In 2011 he was elected as a Senator and appointed as Chief Minister on 14th November 2011. In the 2014 election he was re-elected as a Senator and re-elected as Chief Minister.
