New website launched for Jersey's arts and heritage

A new States website has been launched to provide details about events around the island.

Culture.je will post about exhibitions at the island's museums, acts at the Opera House and events at historic spots.

The development of the website cost around £16,000 and has been funded by Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture department.

Groups which hold weekly meetings will also be advertised on the website, including reading groups and dance masterclasses.

The website also gives information about grants and funding available to different organisations in Jersey.

The Assistant Minister for Culture says it's a valuable resource for people to find out about culture and heritage on the island.

Staff at Jersey Library will be responsible for the website and the blog, which currently has posts on Jèrriais and The Jersey Festival of Words.
