Some of the world's best athletes will return to Jersey, after the States secured the rights to host the Super League Triathlon for the next five years.
It follows the success of last year's event which saw thousands of spectators gather at Elizabeth Marina to watch the action.
Last week, the Economic Development Minister, Senator Lyndon Farnham agreed to the States contributing a £250,000 yearly grant towards the costs of putting on the event.
Plans for a Jersey Sports and Entertainment Festival are also in the pipeline to run alongside the Super League Triathlon weekend.
