Jersey's on-island opposition to the RNLI has become an official association.
The Jersey Lifeboat Association (JLA) was granted permission to be formally created in the Royal Court this morning.
They hope to get an on-island lifeboat after a breakdown in relations between the RNLI and the local crew.
Chariman of the JLA, Ben Shenton, says the new local charity has been offered assistance by the RNLI.
