Guernsey women celebrated in art exhibition
Fifteen women have been painted by Guernsey artist Olympia McEwan in a celebration of local women and the positive impact they have had on the island's community.
Involving charity workers, musicians, artists, campaigners, teachers and business and religious leaders, the exhibition is designed to uplift and inspire.
Coinciding with the centenary year of women being given the right to vote in the UK, a central theme of the exhibition is equality.
Each of the women were painted in the same simple yellow chair, each of the portraits are exactly the same size and hung at exactly the same height, meaning they demand equal attention from the viewer.
Put on by the Guernsey Arts Commission, 'Amazing Women!' is on display at Guernsey Museum until 11th of March.
