Channel ferry operator Condor has withdrawn its bid to run an inter-island service.

The operator expressed interest in a new day route connecting Jersey and Guernsey.

The island's governments want to trial a link to serve islanders and tourists between May and September.

The CEO of Condor Ferries, Paul Luxon, told ITV News that things had changed since the firm first initiated an expression of interest:

Bachmann have also withdrawn from the tender process.

Nick Saul, CEO of Bachmann, said the group had been excited by the opportunity.
