The charity Jersey Liberate has launched a petition against an amendment to the island's marriage legislation.

Following a review Jersey's Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel has lodged a 'tolerance clause' to protect religious beliefs.

The charity fears this would lead to same sex and transgender couples being discriminated against.

Almost 2,000 people have signed the petition so far.
