Regular supermarket 'quiet hour' to start from today
People living with autism will now be able to do their grocery shop during a weekly 'quiet hour' starting from today.
The Grand Marché supermarkets in Jersey and Guernsey will dim their lights, turn the music off and make no tannoy announcements during the dedicated hour.
Autism Jersey say the lights and sounds of shopping in a noisy, bustling supermarket can be overwhelming to adults and children with autism.
These few changes can make it easier for adults and children who are on the autism spectrum.
The quiet hour will take place every Monday between 3pm and 4pm.
