Harbour skate park 'temporarily' closed
The Ports of Jersey has temporarily closed the skatepark at the New North Quay because of safety concerns.
The equipment has been there for nearly a decade and is used regularly by young skaters.
But the Ports of Jersey says there has been an increase in the number of 'safety related incidents' and they are closing the site 'temporarily' until they can be sure they can keep the area safe.
The Ports says it is now working with the Jersey Youth Service and government representatives to find a long-term solution.
This includes pledging £50,000 to move the site to somewhere 'more appropriate.'
