More than 200 people turn out to celebrate Lihou Island
More than 200 people have been touring Lihou Island this weekend and attending its annual mulled wine and mince pie event.
The small island is located just off the west coast of Guernsey and accessed by a causeway at low tide for about two weeks every month.
The States of Guernsey purchased Lihou in 1995 to make sure it was looked after and open to visitors and islanders.
The Lihou Charitable Trust was set up to run the house on the island.
The house accommodates groups of young people and adults. It has no music or television, encouraging people to enjoy the nature around.
The trust provides information about Lihou's wildlife and history to people on the island.
Events such as this open day raise much needed funds to cover the cost of maintaining Lihou.
