Tender out for inter-island passenger ferry service
A tender has gone out for a new inter-island passenger ferry service between Jersey and Guernsey.
The islands' governments will assist an operator to provide day trips during the summer months next year.
The States of Jersey and Guernsey want to increase visitor numbers. They say this service will make it easier for visitors to ‘island hop’, and will improve social, cultural and sporting links between the two islands.
The tender specification gives the successful bidder the option of providing an additional service to Alderney. Some funding towards this may be available from the States of Alderney.
Nine companies have expressed interest in running the service.
