Jersey’s top 150-ranked doubles star Scott Clayton will represent the Channel Islands in the Aegon Winter County Cup this weekend.

After back-to-back promotions in recent years, the CI men achieved a best-ever finish in the event in 2016, securing their divisional status in thrilling fashion.

They are playing at level four of the six-tier competition, which is contested annually over one weekend.

Clayton, 23, has not featured in several years but is available to join the nine-strong team after going out of his final ATP Challenger Tour event of the season in India this week.

The Channel Islands head to Prestwick to take on the North of Scotland, East of Scotland, and Devon, with another promotion now a real possibility.
