New charity set up to protect Jersey's environment
A new charity has been set up in Jersey to support efforts to protect the island's environment.
The Earth Project Jersey believes islanders should take responsibility for nature and wants to act as an umbrella charity to other organisation that are promoting a healthier way of life.
The charity's main aims are to find alternatives to chemical fertilisers and insecticides that affect farming and water supplies, and can lead to issues such as the island's sea lettuce problem.
The group says it also wants to improve the quality of island products.
It is looking for financial partners and inviting farmers and landowners to join the collaboration.
